Sri Vara Maha Lakshmi

Sri Vara Mahalakshmi is the manifestation of Lakshmi who grants boons (varam). According to the Hindu scriptures, when Yudhishtira, the eldest of the Pandava princes, enquires Lord Krishna about a ritual fast that can get back the wealth that they lost in his gambles with the Kauravas, Krishna recommends Mahalakshmi Vrata or Puja, which can replenish the worshipper with health, wealth, prosperity, family and kingdom through the divine grace of the Lakshmi.

​

The Varalakshmi Vrata is a fast observed by married Hindu women on the Friday that precedes the full moon day of the month of Shravan (August-September) as a means to seek her blessings for a good progeny and long life of the husband.

Goddess Kamakshi, one of the highest aspects of Adi Parashakti, the mighty goddess in Shaktism. According to a local legend, Adi Shankaracharya established the Sri Yantra in the shrine in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu. There is a common belief that praying to Goddess Kamakshi bestows health, well-being and propoerity for the progeny.
